Winterport- Boys Socer

Game 2 Winterport 3/3 tie 0-1-1 Differential:-3
Article By:Jay S

Coach's insight:The boys came out strong and wanted to win. Ready to play, they set up an early goal from Cayman Z
, which was returned by a penalty kick from Winterport. Again the boys responded strong with a number of attacks on the goal which ended in a goal from Issac V. Winterport returned that goal with two goals to make the game score 3 to 2. Bryce L ended up putting the ball into the goal with a few seconds left in the game. A very aggressive overtime from our boys unfortunately ended in a tie for the game.

Glenburn played really well this game even with a couple of bad calls from the referee. Winterport played a good game overall and kept their defense up during overtime making it a tie. I think Glenburn boys will be starving for a win and will win the next game against Holbrook.

Boys Soccer Game 1 Vs Orono

Game 1 Vs Orono 5/2 Loss 0-0-1 Differential: -3

Coach Gallant's insight: The game went very well. With the boys playing very hard.

There was a great improvement from the 1st that got away from us to give Orono an early lead. The boys responded with a pair of  good goals from Cayman Z and Henry W. In my opinion I think the boys did extremely well against Orono in the second half as we eventually figured out the other teams strategy. We put up a very good fight making for half to the 2nd.

Rise through the ash as they do,

Embracing tomorrow again and again.

Field Hockey Team Going Undefeated

by Team Captain Olivia S

The Glenburn Field Hockey Team is going undefeated. So far, they have won all of their games. Last week, they had their third game against Millinocket on September 19. They won 1-0. I had that goal, and it was a great fight. They were missing one of their goalies. Brook D was the goalie for the whole A game. Lauren was the goalie for the B game, so Brooke would have a chance to play. They are looking forward to two more wins this week. They play against Orono at their home field, and they play in Millinocket against them on Friday. Good luck girls!

Glenburn Field Hockey Season has Officially Started

by Team Captain Olivia S

The 2014 Glenburn Field Hockey season has officially started. The team is very small this year, and young. Everyone is still learning, but that is what a team is for, helping each other learn and improve. They have had their first two games against Orono and Caravel. They played at Orono, and won 5-0! Tianna C had 2 goals and I had 3. The passing within the team was amazing. The second game was at home on September 17 against Caravel. Glenburn won 10-0! Lauren C scored 1 goal, Lauren D scored 2 goals, Emily W scored 2 goals, Tianna C scored 2 goals, and I scored 3 goals. They had a variety of people score, which was phenomenal. The next game is on September 19 at home, against Millinocket. Come cheer on the Glenburn Field Hockey Team!

Glenburn Lady Chargers Soccer Team 2014

by Team Captain Jaeda R

Glenburn Lady Chargers Soccer Team 2014-
This is a building year. We have a lot of new sixth graders, and they are doing very well, I am so proud of them! 90% of the players haven’t played in a real game before, so the team is still learning.” They have played two games so far, September 15th and September 16th. They have lost both games. First game of the season was against Orono, they lost 12-1. Lauren T got the first goal of the season! Go Lauren! Second game of the season they lost 5-0. The coach is very proud of the progress of the girls between the first and second game. The team is still figuring out the positions that everyone fits in. We all are rooting for a win soon!
